Subject: The Inter-American Court of Human Rights, also applying the Court of Strasbourg’s jurisprudence, has sentenced the State of Venezuela for violation of the rights to freedom of thought and expression, to actual legal protection and personal freedom, with regard to the custodial sentence passed against general Usón Ramírez for his declarations during a television interview, which have been deemed as an offence to the national armed forces.
