Subject: The European Data Protection Supervisor drafted an opinion on the Communication of the Commission on the Trust in the data flows between EU and US and on the Communication on the Functioning of the Safe Harbour. In the first part of the Opinion he comments on the general approach of the Communication on rebuilding trust. In the second part, he analyses the applicability of the relevant legal framework and its consequences, including comments on the Communication on Safe Harbour. In the third part he takes into consideration the future steps to be taken.
