Subject: The Court held: by eleven votes to six, that there had been a violation of Article 7 (no punishment without law) of the European Convention on Human Rights; and, by twelve votes to five, that it was not necessary to examine separately the applicant’s complaint under Article 6 § 1 (right to a fair trial) of the Convention concerning the alleged unfairness of the proceedings.
