Subject: The Inter-American Court of Human Rights pronounces itself on the responsibility of the State, according to the right to life, to an effective judicial remedy and to the integrity of the person, with regard to the alleged summary execution of three members of the Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) during the “Chavín de Huántar” operation of 22 April 1997, planned after the “seizure” of the Japanese ambassador’s residence by the MRTA in December 1996 and aimed at the liberation of the hostages.
