Subject: the judgment affirms that the decisions relative to the European arrest warrant must also be read in the context of the Council Framework Decision of 13 June 2002, product of the Tampere Council of 1999, where, within the framework of judicial cooperation between member states, a single area of freedom, security and justice was created. This framework decision, according to the judgement, by offering a list of crimes for which a European arrest warrant can be issued sets out the purposes and limitations of the institution and is informed by the observance of and compliance with the principles laid down in art. 6 of the European Union Treaty and by title VI of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
