Subject: The Court held unanimously that there had been:a violation of Article 2 (right to life) of the European Convention on Human Rights on account of the killing of the applicants’ son by Turkish police officers; a violation of Article 2 on account of the authorities’ failure to carry out an effective investigation into his death; and,a violation of Article 3 (prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment) in relation to Mrs Mansuroğlu.
