Subject: The Court held unanimously that there had been:a violation of Article 3 (prohibition of torture) of the European Convention on Human Rights concerning Olga Maslova’s ill-treatment and repeated rape by a policeman and prosecution officers;a violation of Article 3 (prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment) of the Convention concerning Fedor Nalbandov’s ill-treatment by prosecution officers;a violation of Article 3 (lack of an effective investigation) in respect of each applicant on account of the lack of an effective investigation; and,a failure to comply with Article 38 § 1 (a) (obligation to furnish necessary facilities for the examination of the case).
