Subject: The Court stated that where a certain number of years’ service is required for the internal promotion of career civil servants, Member States can be required to recognize periods worked as an interim civil servant. For the recognition of those periods, the duties undertaken as an interim civil servant must be comparable with those of a career civil servant.
