Subject: The European Commission highlights that the EU has in place a comprehensive set of tools able to meet most needs. These tools must, however, be used more effectively and consistently. By proposing Asylum and Migration Fund Regulation the Commission showed how funding could be used to support and promote EU actions in both the short-and-long term with its focus on people flows and the integrated management of migration. The Commission looks forwards to further debates, notably in the European Parliament and the Council, and in particular to taking forwards the “EU Action on Migratory Pressures-A Strategic Response”.
