Subject: The High Court judges on the supposed violation of the right to freedom as consequence of the claimant’s admission to a psychiatric hospital on the basis of the norms of the Mental Health Act 2001 (law providing norms for the treatment and cure of patients in psychiatric hospitals). The Court has established that such norms, and in particular Sections 23 and 24, are not in contrast with the rights provided by article 5 of the ECHR and thus the treatment received by the claimant must be considered legal.
