Subject: The Polish constitutional Tribunal has in a recent decision annulled the amendments to the lustration procedure introduced by way of Acts 2006 and 2007. The decision is very interesting because the Polish constitutional judges have tried to combine the constitutional need to protect a young democracy from the dangerous of the past with the exigency that that need is achieved by the legal means allowed in a democratic State governed by the rule of law
