Subject: The European Parliament welcomes the Special Report of the European Ombudsman in the framework of the inquiry concerning Frontex; it supports Frontex’s efforts in taking on board 12 of the Ombudsman’s 13 recommendations; it acknowledges Frontex’s current efforts to enhance respect for fundamental rights in the form of, but not limited to, the setting-up of an incident reporting system as well as devising codes of conduct, creating a Consultative Forum on fundamental rights and establishing a Fundamental Rights Office. Le Parliament supports the recommendation by the European Ombudsman that Frontex should deal with individual complaints regarding infringements of fundamental rights in the course of its operations and should provide adequate administrative support for that purpose; it calls on Frontex to set up an appropriate complaints mechanism, including within the framework of its working arrangements concluded with the competent authorities of third countries
