Subject: The overarching aim of the review is to simplify and complete the existing regulatory framework on consumer protection, in order to strike a balance between consumer protection and business competitiveness. In this regard, the Commission deems it necessary to boost consumers’ confidence in the internal market by guaranteeting to them equal rights across the EU and resort to equivalent remedies if something goes wrong.
