Subject: The information society poses significant challenges, thus creating a new landscape of potential risks. Threats to security and privacy, also through unlawful interception and exploitation of data, are becoming more and more serious. The Council invites Member States to encourage the continuous improvement of national computer emergency response bodies, and to support training programmes and raise general awareness of network and information security issues.
