Subject: The European Parliament affirmed that the overarching aim of active social inclusion policies must be to implement fundamental rights in order to enable people to live with dignity and participate in society and the labour market. These policies should aim at fostering stable and secure highly skilled jobs, improving the attractiveness of jobs, providing a high level of health and safety at work, and ensuring the promotion of equality between men and women (the persistent gender pay gap puts women in a weaker position when it comes to escaping poverty).
