Subject: The European Parliament calls on the Commission to encourage the active involvement of people with disabilities in education, vocational training, e-learning, cultural events, sport, leisure activities, the information society and the mass media, and to bring a proposal for a directive dealing with the non-discriminatory access to goods and services for people with disabilities. The European Parliament, moreover, recalls that equal access to public transport is vital for disabled people travelling to their place of employment and is necessary to maintain social and family networks.
