Subject: The Court affirmed that the obligations laid down by the Directive 2000/60/EC establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy apply to individual projects such as the deepening of a navigable river. Accordingly, the directive precludes authorisation of such a project where it may cause a deterioration of the status of the body of water concerned and no derogation applies
