Subject: The Advocate General presents its opinion on the interpretation of the Directive 77/187 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of businesses. He suggests his position on the compatibility of Article 1 paragraph 218 of the Italian Law no. 266/2005 with Article 47 of the Charter of fundamental rights. He tends towards large interpretation of Article 51 paragraph 1 of the Charter.
