Subject: The directive adopts and integrated, holistic and human rights approach to the fight against trafficking of human beings. More rigorous prevention, prosecution and protection of victim’s rights are major objectives of the directive. The directive adopts a broader concept of what should be considered trafficking of human beings that under framework decision 2002/629/JHA. Children are more vulnerable than adults and in the application of the directive the child’s best interests must be a primary consideration.
